1.1. Definitions

1.1.1. Network

A site or group of sites that have been set up for a certain campaign or project, typically in one city.

1.1.2. Site

A singular general location (e.g. building, roof, garden) where meteorological measurement equipment is deployed.

1.1.3. Instrument

Equipment (defined by the manufacturer and make) used to measure the enviromental conditions.

1.1.4. Deployment

The configuration and status of an instrument at a site. A new configuration includes changing the position (siting, height, pitch, yaw and roll) or changing the measurement time resolution. The status of an instrument involves the working condition of the instrument. For example if an instrument underwent a calibration or a fix then this would constitute a new deployment.
